MallMagick's first tape release 'A Study on Tension' is an intentional working that examines accumulations of sound through sound collage. Conceptually, it explores the tension between man and objects of proximity, excavating sound through repetition and gradual, incremental intensity or resolution. It is the performance of internal non-dialogue and the psychology of personal retrieval. Structured as a both a study and documentary of sound, it is composed of raw field recordings as source material with objects used as literal track titles.
